A full tree removal is the removal, not only of the main part of the tree above the ground (by felling or dismantling) but, having reduced the tree to a stump, the roots also are ground out to a certain depth below the ground. Where trees are too large for roots to be conveniently dug out, a stump-grinder is used, grinding out the main root-ball, leaving the area free for the laying of turf, planting of other trees/plants, e.t.c. To avoid re-growth from any remaining roots of high vigour trees (Such as Willow), this is best performed when the tree is in full-leaf, such that the tree has expended much of the energy stored in the roots during winter, and, less energy being in the roots, there is less chance of re-growth. Though this can in most cases be done at any time of year. |
